Cinnamon Rolls Recipe ( or Orange Rolls)

“This cinnamon roll recipe or orange roll recipe is incredible. It is by far the best I have eaten but be warned, they are time consuming to make. If you have the time they are worth it. I will try my best to explain how to make them so bare with me.” -Jake

cinnamon rolls


2 cups milk
1/2 lb butter
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 tsp salt
6 eggs
1/2 cup hot water
4 Tbs yeast
2 Tbs sugar
6 cups flour
3 cups flour
brown sugar
cinnamon and sugar mixture


Scald 2 cups milk but don’t boil. Add 1/2 pound butter, sugar and salt. Beat 6 eggs well with an electric mixer and set aside. In 1/2 cup hot water add yeast and 2 Tbs sugar. Mix well and let sit 1 minute until yeast is foamy. Put milk mixture in Bosch mixer and add yeast mixture. Add 6 cups flour and mix. Now add the eggs plus 3 cups flour. Mix well, 3 to 4 minutes. Put dough into a pamed and floured bowl. (it will be sticky) Cover with a towel and let rise until double. Punch down and let rise 25 minutes. Punch down and let rise 10 minutes. Divide dough in half and roll out. Spread softened butter on top (its easiest with the fingers). Cover well with brown sugar and cinnamon. Cut dough in half and fold each half over. Cut off strips (3/4 inch wide) and pat cinnamon and sugar down. The strips should be 9-12 inches long. Twist strips together and fold into a circle, tucking ends under. Put 12 to a cookie sheet and let rise about 1/2 hour to 45 minutes. (Don’t rise too much) Bake at 350 degrees for 13-15 minutes.

To make the icing, boil 1/2 cup water with 1/2 cup butter. Add about 1 1/2 pounds powdered sugar stirring quickly. Add 1 tsp vanilla. Icing should be thin and runny. Ice your cinnamon rolls while still hot. To make
